General

What does Hoppster cost?

Nothing. Hoppster is free, with no ads and no subscription – and we want to keep it that way.

When will Hoppster be in the App Store?

There’s no date yet. First comes a beta via Apple’s TestFlight – how to join is on the Beta page.

Is there an Android version?

Yes, in the works. The Android app is being built step by step and will run on Android 10 and later; there’s no date yet. We’re already looking for testers – see Beta.

Which iPhone do I need?

One with iOS 18 or later, so iPhone XS and XR onwards. Before iOS 26 a few buttons look a little plainer; everything else is the same.

Is Hoppster available in English?

Yes. The app speaks German and English – or follows the language your iPhone is set to.

Account and data

Do I need an account?

No. Without an account everything works except the feed, following and the ranking, and everything you log stays on your iPhone. You only need an account to follow friends, share reports or keep an extra copy of your logbook on our server.

Where is my data, and who can see it?

Without an account, only on your iPhone. With an account, also on Amazon Web Services servers in Frankfurt. You decide what others see – each report on its own: public, followers, friends or private. The details are in the privacy policy.

Does this website use cookies?

No. No cookies, no third-party analytics, no third-party fonts. We count page views ourselves: a small script reports only the address of the page – no identifier, your IP address isn’t stored and nothing is saved on your device. More in the privacy policy.

How do I delete my account?

In the app under “Delete account”. That immediately removes everything on the server, including photos and your login. The logbook on your iPhone stays. Without the app you can do it by email – step by step under Delete account.

How do I back up my logbook?

Under “Import, export and backup” you save the whole logbook with photos and tickets as one file and can read it back in later. With an account it’s also stored on our server, so it comes along to a new iPhone too.

Grounds, matches, countries

Which countries are included?

Germany is included, right down to the village pitch. You can download more countries in the app as country packs. Countries already in your logbook are loaded automatically.

A ground is missing or wrong.

Open the ground in the app and tap “Report a mistake”. If a ground is missing entirely, you can add it yourself. With an account the report comes straight to us and you can see in the app what happened to it; without one it turns into a ready-to-send email.

Why are matches from lower leagues missing?

Fixture lists for amateur leagues aren’t freely available anywhere. We’re working on it. The grounds themselves are there, and you can still add your visit to the logbook.

Are the kick-off times right?

They come from outside sources and are updated continuously. If a match is moved or called off, Hoppster lets you know. It’s still worth checking the club’s website before you set off.

Logbook and trips

Can I bring my logbook from another app?

Yes – from Futbology, Footbeen, myGrounds, the Groundhopper App or your own Excel or Numbers list. How it works is under Moving over. Duplicates are skipped, so importing twice never hurts.

What are patches?

Patches in your logbook – for milestones, countries, leagues and moments like floodlights or a derby. With an account you can create your own. They’re all on the Patches page.

How do I share a trip?

Tap “Share” in the trip and send the link. Anyone without Hoppster can still see the matches in their browser.
